Message Center

This is the heart of the voicemail portion of the system.  It is within this option that you can retrieve and manipulate your messages and work with message broadcast.

You may choose to work with the following options to manipulate messages in each of the message categories - New, Saved or Deleted. New and Saved messages are saved for 30 days from the date received and will be automatically erased after 30 days whether or not you have listened to them.   Messages that are deleted because they are over 30 days old ARE NOT placed into “Deleted Messages” – they are permanently removed from the system and are not retrievable. Messages that you delete will save for a period of 5 days, after which they will be purged permanently from the system.  If you choose to delete a message from your Deleted message center, that message will also be permanently erased from the system.  When accessing a deleted message, you will be given the opportunity to restore the deleted message.  Just like “regular” new messages, they can be saved for a period of 30 days.

Message Broadcast

The Message Broadcast center gives you the opportunity to create broadcast lists for mass message distribution.  You are not charged for sending messages to other mailboxes, you are charged only for the amount of time spent recording the message.  Messages sent to telephone numbers will be charged at your voicemail rate

Message Notification

If you would like a notification sent to your pager, e-mail address, cellular phone and/or to another number when someone leaves you a message, you can program those numbers into the system through this feature.  You can have any combination of notification types active simultaneously.

Message Options

This menu contains options that allow you to select the order in which your messages are played, elect to block someone from leaving you messages from either inside or outside of the system, and select the time zone in which you will be listening to your messages so that you hear the date and time in  your local time.

Fax Mail

Faxes can be delivered into your mailbox from a fax machine or from within the system via fax broadcast or from Option 9 for billing statements.

To place a fax into your mailbox dial your toll free number from a fax machine.  As soon as the greeting begins to play, interrupt the greeting by pressing the # key.  You will then be instructed to press 1 if you would like to record a voicemail cover page otherwise press the START key on your fax machine and replace the handset.  The fax transmission will begin immediately.

While listening to your voice messages the system will notify you if the message is a fax mail message and gives you an option to take delivery and/or use any of the other options available to you in the message center.

Take Delivery: This option prompts you to enter the area code and phone number of the fax machine for delivery.

Follow Me

This feature allows you to forward incoming calls directly to an outside telephone number (or sequence of numbers) of your choice.  You can program up to 9 different lists with up to 99 numbers on each list.  Only one list may be active at a time. You will use your pin code to accept an incoming call. No one can accept a Follow-Me call on your behalf unless they know the code

Your caller will hear “(Your name recording) has turned the Follow Me feature on.  Press 1 to be connected or hold to leave a message. When the caller presses 1, they will be instructed to record their name and be asked to hold while their call is being connected. If a call is rejected by all of the numbers programmed, the caller will be told that their call was unable to be connected and be given the opportunity to leave you a message.

Speed Dialing

You can program your most frequently called numbers.  Once you have programmed those numbers, instead of dialing an area code and telephone number to place a long distance call, you can press * (star) followed by the single key location of the number you wish to reach.

3-Way Plus Calling

3-Way Plus Calling enables you to create mini-conferences on the fly.  This service operates on the same concept as 3-way calling from your home.  It’s much better than regular old 3-way, though!  Through your virtual office you can now connect not just 3, not just 4, but up to 7 people on the same call!

Conference Calling

You can have up to 32 callers on a conference call. You will be billed a per minute-per line charge for participants using the 972 or the toll free number.

[1]     Join a conference call in progress. You will need to provide each participant with the time and date of your call as well as a conference security code.  If you choose, you may conduct your call as an unsecured call, but My Voicemail Network does not recommended establishing unsecured calls.  If there is more than one unsecured conference call in progress or more than one call with your security number, the system will then speak the name of all calls in session and the participants can select the appropriate call.

[2]     Establish a conference call.  The system will ask you to record a name for your call and to choose a security access code up to 10-digits in length.   Hint: You must establish the conference call before others can join in, so we recommend that you establish the call a few minutes ahead of the scheduled conference call time.

Long Distance

TIP: When you finish with one call you can immediately get back to the Main menu to make another call or work with your voicemail features by pressing ## to terminate the call.

  Adjust Features

This option is used to personalize your mailbox.  You can record your own greeting; change your security code, program message notification and many other features.  You may select from the following options:

Mailbox Greeting: You may select or record a greeting to be played for your callers.

Record Name: It is important for everyone to activate this feature as your name recording is used in several places within the system.  In fact, if a name recording is not made, it will not be possible for anyone to “find” you using the last name search function.  For example, this recording plays when someone adds your mailbox to a broadcast list and announces you to the recipient of the messages you send.

Change Security Code: You can and should change your security code (PIN) regularly to keep your mailbox secure.
